In the early US military exercises, each soldier and vehicle carried a laser sensor (MILES). In the exercise confrontation, the unit that was "hit" would make a "beeping" sound to indicate that the unit was "killed".
With the development of exercise equipment, the US military has now replaced the MILE equipment of Lockheed Martin, Cubic and other companies with the CVTESS (COMBAT VEHICLE TACTICAL ENGAGEMENT SIMULATION SYSTEM) provided by Saab, also known as the tank tactical engagement simulation system.
Saab's CVTESS can be installed not only on Bradley, but also on the US Abrams M1 main battle tank. Compared with previous countermeasure systems, CVTESS is simple to install and maintain, which can reduce the cost and time of tank crew training (Saab said so himself~). Highly realistic combat scenarios and after-action reports can provide soldiers with the experience and knowledge they need to fight safely and effectively on the battlefield.
